Superheroes delighted pupils at a Conisbrough school when they flew in to help launch an innovative handwriting scheme. Batman, Catwoman and Spiderman joined young superheroes at Ivanhoe Primary Academy, as they celebrated all things heroic.

Trees and rubbish found burning in Conisbrough had been deliberately set alight. Firefighters were alerted to the blaze at 8.30pm on Monday. The incident was reported to South Yorkshire Police. Anyone with information should call 101.
